NFTY New York Area is governed by a board of nine teen leaders who are elected by their peers that serve a one-year term. Regional board members play a critical role in all aspects of running the region including event planning and marketing, and mentoring teen leaders from our local youth communities. The regional board is mentored by a full-time Regional Director of Youth Engagement who oversees all programmatic and administrative aspects of the region.

Josh Squire
Regional Advisor
Josh Squire is enthusiastically joining our team after his recent post as a Development Associate for the Jewish Federation of Greater New Haven. Josh is an alumnus of NFTY’s Northeast region where he held multiple leadership positions including President of his TYG, MITYOR, at Temple Mishkan Israel in Hamden, Connecticut. Josh is also a proud alumnus of NFTY’s Summer EIE Israel program. Josh continued his Jewish journey at the University of Connecticut, where he practiced his passion for Jewish leadership as Hillel president and founding father of historically Jewish fraternity, Sigma Alpha Mu. Josh has also spent multiple summers at URJ Eisner Camp as a counselor and Unit Head.
Since graduating from UConn with a B.A. in Political Science, Josh continues to serve on the UConn Hillel Board of Directors to support active and vibrant Jewish life on campus. Josh has also exercised his love of Jewish teen engagement as a B’nai Brith Youth Organization advisor in the Connecticut Valley Region. In his spare time, you will find Josh at music festivals, searching for new coffee shops, exercising, and cheering on the UConn men’s and women’s basketball teams.
