Meet Our Regional Board
Jonah Dichter, President
Hey Everyone! This year is my third year as part of NFTY, and I’m excited to make it an incredible one. In my free time, I make pottery and I am always trying to find what voice filter I’m going to use at the next NFTY NAR event. I can’t wait to meet you all soon!
Barak Landis, Programming Vice President
I’m Barak Landis, and I’m excited to be your Programming VP! I am a sophomore and I've been participating in NFTY events for years now! I have attended NFTY Nashir four times, NFTY NAR events, and 678 events. I also have been going to Camp Harlam since I was 7 years old.
Risa Lippe, Religious and Cultural Vice President
My name is Risa Lippe and I am a senior in Manhattan. Last Spring I spent a semester in Israel with the URJ Heller High program and try to visit every chance I get. I am deeply passionate about the traditions and rituals of Judaism and everything that it can teach us. I am a proud Rabbi’s kid and have grown up deeply involved in the Reform Jewish world.
Hannah Herman, Membership Vice President
Hi! My name is Hannah Herman and I am the Membership Vice President of NFTY NAR this year. I have been a part of NFTY for 4 years now and am sad to say that this will be my last as a rising senior. I have gone to URJ Camp Eisner for 6 years and was junior counselor this past summer. I can't wait to meet you!
Rachel Sobel, Communications Vice President
My name is Rachel Sobel. I am 17 years old. I am a senior in New City. Last year I was president of my Temple Youth Group and I also worked as a teen aide at the Hebrew School. I have attended URJ Eisner Camp for 8 summers and last spring I attended URJ Heller High.
Nadine Katz, Westchester/Fairfield Sub-Regional Director
Hi my name is Nadine Katz. I am 16 years old, and this year I'm a junior in high school. Some fun facts about me are that I am Argentinian, from my mom's side, so I speak Spanish fluently. I am so excited to serve you on the NFTY-NAR board this year!
NFTY New York Area is governed by a board of nine teen leaders who are elected by their peers that serve a one-year term. Regional board members play a critical role in all aspects of running the region including event planning and marketing, and mentoring teen leaders from our local youth communities. The regional board is mentored by a full-time Regional Director of Youth Engagement who oversees all programmatic and administrative aspects of the region.
