    Bubbe and Zayde’s Kitchen, a branch of URJ Better Together, is an inter-generational culinary arts program. During monthly sessions, teens and seniors meet and work with a professional chef and Jewish educator to explore their passion for cooking, discuss how Jewish foods serve as a legacy for Jewish heritage, and share their personal stories about Jewish food.

  • What do you stand for?

    On March 6th & 7th, 45 Jewish teens representing over 20 URJ congregations from the NY Area went to Albany to lobby our state legislators on social justice issues that matter to us as NFTYites. After spending Sunday learning about four different issues – Gun Violence Prevention, Economic Justice, Transgender Rights and Education – we prepared lobby speeches and met with our State Assembly Members and Senators.

  • Taking the SNAP Challenge

    Written By Samantha Aaronson From November 13th to 19th, I participated in the SNAP Challenge. SNAP is the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program where those eligible receive a national average of approximately $4.10 a day to spend on food. This challenge simulated living off of this program and I chose to take it on for a week.
