NFTY-NAR Albany Advocacy Day

March 6-7, 2016

Please join us for for Albany Advocacy Day, an overnight social justice experience, which will be held on Sunday, March 6th- Monday, March 7th. We'll be spending Sunday learning about a variety of different social justice issues, and preparing lobby speeches, and then spend all day on Monday in Albany meeting with our state assembly people and senators.

This event is open to any Jewish teen in grades 9 to 12.

  • Teens are expected to participate in the entire event. Fees are set at a full package rate and unfortunately we cannot prorate registration.

Buses will be leaving from locations throughout the region between 8:30am and 9:30am on the Sunday of the event. Final locations and times will be sent out in the final event email.

Every participant must travel to/from the event with an adult over the age of 21 (advisor, parent/guardian). No participants may drive themselves to, from, or during the event. This includes travel to and from the bus locations.

Buses are scheduled to leave the State Capitol at 4:00pm on Monday. Please allow about 3 to 4 hours travel time back to the bus stop.

Dress on Sunday will be casual. You can wear what you normally would on a typical day of school. On Monday, you'll want to dress in business attire, which means suits and ties or nice dresses.

Please bring paper and a pen with you to the prep day on Sunday.

Participants will receive a confirmation email one week before the event. The confirmation will include finalized bus arrival and departure information and other important information regarding the event.

If you need to cancel, the registration fees you paid will be refunded as follows:

Through February 12, 2016 – 90%Through February 19, 2016 – 75%Through February 26, 2016 – 50%

After February 26, 2016 we will not be able to issue any refunds for cancellation. If you have a documented medical emergency and must cancel after February 26, 2016 you will be refunded 75% of the registration fees you paid.

All cancellation must be in writing. We will accept cancellations by email to We’re sorry, but we cannot accept cancellations over the phone. Please allow up to six weeks after the conclusion of the event for your refund to be processed.
